On 25th September 2016, Axis Security's Lee Sawyer, Account Support Manager, bravely dived out of a plane for Bath Cancer Unit Support Group - The BCUSG. The BCUSG is a local charity, run entirely by volunteers, meaning that around 96% of all donations made will go directly to the Cancer Unit within Bath's RUH. On an ongoing basis the charity funds.
“Back in June this year I decided to raise money for Bath Cancer Unit Support Group (BCUSG), a local charity run entirely by volunteers, meaning that around 96% of all donations made will go directly to the Cancer Unit within Bath's RUH. I chose the charity as it’s close to my heart, and I thought, what better way to raise money then jumping out of a plane at 15,000ft!
It was my first ever skydive, so arriving on the day I was very nervous. Once kitted out and trained we were ready to board the plane. When up in the air I was sat on a bench tied to my instructor who tightens everything a few minutes before we get to the right altitude to jump. With a few last instructions and tips about what was to come, they shimmy me down the bench into the open doorway, next minute I was hung outside the plane ready and after a nerve-racking countdown, we were off. What an amazing experience - simply breath taking and supremely exciting. The view was awesome and the dive down seemed to go in a flash, I never wanted the experience to end! Would I do this again....? YES, it was amazing.”
So far, Lee has raised over £800 but there is still time to donate: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/leeBCUSG
